The Mechanical Engineer will design and guide the development of Interiors for BETA’s CX300 and A250 aircraft. This engineer will leverage experience and engineering best practices to develop and certify commodities such as monuments and liners. Their skills and experiences will shape design decisions from early-stage concepts through sustainment and field maintenance. They will also support certification by ensuring verification strategies are well-aligned with Beta’s methods of compliance, and by working in conjunction with Test Engineers to draft and execute test plans.
The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and focused. This role will primarily collaborate with Design, Stress, Manufacturing, and Quality teams during development, as well as Systems, Safety, Program Management and Certification

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: - Develop and Maintain 2D & 3D Datasets in a controlled PLM Environment using Catia V6.
- Design products for certification based on requirements, and accepted means of compliance.
- Develop and build prototypes and run experiments to support design concept development.
- Create documentation for certification such as Flammability Test Plans, Compliance Collectors, etc.
- Track and report design and deliverable status to maintain program awareness.
- Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing resources to minimize cost and improve manufacturability.
Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum 5-10 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical design on FAA Certification Programs.
- Ability to perform hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
- Proficiency of 3D CAD software (Catia V6 preferred).
- Communication and leadership skills required.
- Self-starter that is organized, and a team player.
Above and Beyond Qualifications:- Experience working in production environments, making real-time decisions to deviate, and then implementing long-term solutions.
- Hands-on manufacturing experience in both metallic and composite assemblies.
- Knowledge of performance-based certification processes, and deliverables.
- Flammability test planning and execution to meet Part 23 (or similar) FAA approved means of compliance.
- Ability to perform hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
